Ai Saotome was born on December 29, 1958 in Kagoshima, Japan as Satomi Setoguchi. She was an actress of film, stage and television, and has appeared in at least one nude photo album. She was active from 1974 until 2000 when she retired from show business to raise her two children. In 2002 Ai Saotome emigrated to the US and resided in Seattle, Washington. Ai Saotome was hospitalized on July 11, 2010 to receive treatment for her poor health, but her condition worsened, leading to her untimely death due to multiple organ failure on July 20, 2010.
