AV idol Nao Saejima was an model of the 1980s and 1990s, who also featured in photo books, V-cinema and feature films. Her slim figure and glorious breasts quickly made her a popular AV performer, resulting in at least 40 appearances in adult videos within two years of her debut.
Nao Saejima began appearing as a gravure idol in 1985, appeared on the night time TV variety show 11 P.M. in 1987, and made her AV debut in February of the same year.
Along with fellow AV actresses Yui Saito and Midori Hayama, Nao Saejima formed part of the pop group RaCCo-gumi, which in 1988 released the single Lemon Kiss. She retired in 1990, but resumed her AV career again for a short time in 2002 after an absence of 12 years. During this time she worked as a nude model while traveling between the United States and Japan.
In later years Nao Saejima also worked as a writer, a punk group vocalist, and a yoga instructor. After her retirement from public appearances in 2002 it was reported that she was working as an artist. In a sign of Nao Saejima’s international popularity, the Taiwanese rock band Goodbye! Nao Saejima! was named in tribute to her.
Tragically, Nao Saejima died on September 29, 2012, having been stricken with cancer five years previously.
